We are looking forward to enjoying our new home in the Jacksonville area.
I wanted to take the time to thank you for the extraordinary effort that you put
forth to help us overcome some difficult hurdles during the search, negotiation
and closing processes.
We were more than a bit concerned about how we would complete a successful transaction
by remote control. If this had been a straight forward sale/purchase, I would have
been more comfortable about trying to purchase the home in light of the fact that
our primary residence is in Illinois and my travel schedule is demanding. As it
turned out, we were lucky to find a realtor that had such good communication skills.
The large number of homes on the market made it difficult to know where to focus
our efforts. At one point in the process we felt a bit overwhelmed and began to
think that we might not find what we were looking for in a home, within our price
range, in the area. After many emails from someone that you hadn’t met, and just
a few days with me & Sheila, you were able to identify a workable number of homes
that satisfied our criteria as well as appealed to our comfort level and style of
living.
Besides the fact that we were over a thousand miles away, the negotiation process
was made even more difficult by the fact that the sellers were hard to deal with
and at times not very responsive. Of course, the fact that we are demanding buyers
didn’t help things much either. It must have been trying for you as well. Nevertheless,
I was impressed with the way that you were able to keep all the parties moving forward
and focused on the key issues.
Once again, I thought that the deal might fall apart after we got the results of
the inspection report. By the way, the inspector that you recommended performed
a very thorough inspection. Without that, we may have closed on the property without
knowing and correcting all the issues that were present. I am sure that saved us
a lot of cost as well as inconvenience.
Your active participation in that part of the process was absolutely essential and,
frankly, quite surprising. Because of my job, we have moved around a lot and have
bought and sold a number of houses. I have to say that we have never dealt with
a realtor that was as helpful and involved as you were when it came time to resolve
the inspection items and ultimately get the deal closed on time. The number of trips
that you made to the house, and your managing of the items on the inspection report,
as well as your handling of the seller’s realtor made me very happy that you were
handling the issues for us.
We realize that, in a real estate transaction, the realtors are being paid by the
seller. Nevertheless, we felt that you were working on our behalf and were looking
out for our best interests all through the transaction.
It was a pleasure to deal with a real professional.
